Work Safely at Heights (RIIWHS204E)

The Work safely at heights (RIIWHS204E)is designed for individuals who need to perform tasks at height. This course focuses on identifying work requirements, assessing hazards, and using the appropriate equipment such as harnesses, lifelines, ropes, and fall arrest devices. Participants will also develop essential rescue plans for emergency situations.

  • Identify work requirements and procedures for tasks at height
  • Perform a thorough risk assessment of the work area
  • Select, install, and use height safety equipment correctly
  • Safely execute work at height tasks
  • Properly clean up and secure the work area upon task completion

Course Entry Requirements

To enroll, participants must have the following:

  • Safety boots or enclosed footwear
  • Appropriate work attire
  • A pen or pencil for note-taking

Course Duration and Delivery

  • Duration: 1 day (8:30 AM – 4:30 PM)
  • Location: Courses are offered monthly at the Academy or can be delivered on-site upon request.
  • The course includes both theory and practical activities.
  • Morning tea, afternoon tea, coffee, and lunch are provided for courses conducted at Thurgoona Training Academy (TTA).

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Pathways

RPL is not available for working at heights (RIIWHS204E). This unit forms part of the RII Resources and Infrastructure Industry Training Package. Further study options can be explored on skillsdmc.com.au.
