Operate Breathing Apparatus (MWMHS216)

The Operate Breathing Apparatus course thoroughly covers the essential skills required for individuals who need to wear breathing apparatus as part of their job. For instance, this may include working in confined spaces, with hazardous gases or vapors, or in toxic atmospheres, as well as any other environment that demands the use of breathing apparatus. Additionally, although breathing apparatus may be used in emergency situations, it is important to note that this is not the primary focus of the course. Furthermore, refresher training is recommended annually to ensure ongoing competency.

Course Entry Requirements for Operate Breathing Apparatus (MSMWHS216)

To enroll, participants must:

  • Wear safety boots and appropriate attire
  • Be clean-shaven as per Australian Standard AS/NZS1715
  • Bring a pen or pencil
  • Be physically fit and capable of wearing weight on their back

Course Duration and Delivery

  • Duration: 4 hours (8:30 AM – 12:30 PM)
  • Location: The course is available upon request and can be conducted on-site or at our Academy.
  • Learners will engage in both theory and practical training.
  • Amenities: Morning tea and coffee are provided when delivered at Thurgoona Training Academy (TTA).

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Pathways
