NWPTRT007 – Work Safely with Chlorine describes the skills required to monitor and operate liquefied chlorine gas disinfection systems and report on process quality control while maintaining a safe working environment. The course includes the pre-requisite MSMWHS216 – Operate Breathing Apparatus. It is ideal for operational staff responsible for disconnecting and connecting liquefied chlorine gas containers in water and wastewater treatment plants.

Course Entry Requirements for NWPTRT007 – Work Safely with Chlorine
To enroll, participants must:
- Have completed MSMWHS216 – Operate Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus
- Wear enclosed footwear and suitable attire
- Be clean-shaven as per AS/NZS1715 standards
- Bring a pen for note-taking
Course Duration and Delivery
- Duration: 1 day (8:30 AM – 4:30 PM)
- Location: Courses are open to the public and conducted upon request. Training can be delivered on-site or at our Academy.
- Delivery: Learners will engage in both theory and practical activities.
- Amenities: Morning tea, afternoon tea, coffee, and lunch are provided when the course is delivered at Thurgoona Training Academy (TTA).
Recognition of Prior Learning and Pathways
RPL is not offered for NWPTRT007 – Work safely with Chlorine due to the short nature of this course.
