General Occupancy (PUAFER001-004) introduces learners to potential emergencies that may arise within facilities, along with the equipment and protocols used to prevent, manage, and respond to these emergencies. This course serves as an introduction to Facility Emergency Response, covering a wide range of emergency scenarios.

Key Learning Outcomes

  • Understand worker responsibilities during emergencies
  • Recognize various emergencies within the facility, including AS3745 code colours
  • Identify, monitor, and report situations that could lead to facility emergencies
  • Respond to and manage situations that prevent safe handling of emergencies
  • Prepare for, report on, and respond to emergency situations
  • Evacuate from endangered areas

Course Duration and Delivery

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Pathways

RPL is not offered for General Occupancy (PUAFER001-004). Students who complete this unit of competency may be eligible for entry into further study such as: PAU20622 Certificate II Public Safety
