Low Voltage Rescue

Low Voltage Rescue course covers the mandatory rescue procedures required for live LV apparatus, excluding overhead powerlines and underground cables. This course is critical for those working in transmission, distribution, or rail environments, ensuring the health, safety, and risk management processes are integrated into everyday work practices. Participants must have completed the HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation as a prerequisite

Learning Outcomes

  • Prepare to perform rescue procedures from a live LV panel
  • Carry out the rescue from a live LV panel
  • Complete the LV panel rescue procedure safely and efficiently

Vocational Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, participants may consider roles such as:

  • Electrician
  • Safety Observer
  • Member of a Workplace Emergency Response Team

Course Entry Requirements for Low Voltage Rescue

To enroll, participants must have the following:

  • Pre-requisites:
    • HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (current within 12 months)
    • UEECD0007 Apply work health and safety regulations, codes and practices in the workplace
    • or UETDREL006 Work safely in the vicinity of live electrical apparatus as a non-electrical worker
  • Safety boots or enclosed footwear
  • Suitable attire
  • A pen or pencil for note-taking

Course Duration and Delivery

  • Duration: 6 hours (8:30 AM – 2:30 PM)
  • Location: Courses are available upon request and can be delivered on-site or at our Academy.
  • Learners will engage in both theory and practical activities.
  • Amenities: Morning tea, coffee, and lunch are provided when the course is held at Thurgoona Training Academy (TTA).

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Pathways

RPL is not available for Low Voltage Rescue. This competency forms part of the UET12 Transmission, Distribution, and Rail Sector Training Package. For more information, visit ee-oz.com.au.
