General Occupancy (PUAFER001-004)
General Occupancy (PUAFER001-004) introduces learners to potential emergencies that may arise within facilities, along with the equipment and protocols used to prevent, manage, and respond to these emergencies. This course serves as an introduction to Facility Emergency Response, covering a wide range of emergency scenarios.
Key Learning Outcomes
- Understand worker responsibilities during emergencies
- Recognize various emergencies within the facility, including AS3745 code colours
- Identify, monitor, and report situations that could lead to facility emergencies
- Respond to and manage situations that prevent safe handling of emergencies
- Prepare for, report on, and respond to emergency situations
- Evacuate from endangered areas

Upon successful completion of this course, participants may consider roles such as:
- Member of an Emergency Control Organisation
- Site Compliance Officer

Course Entry Requirements for General Occupancy (PUAFER001-004)
To enroll, participants must:
- Wear safety boots or enclosed footwear
- Bring a pen or pencil for note-taking
Course Duration and Delivery
- Duration: 2 hours (8:30 AM – 10:30 AM)
- Location: The course is open to the public and can be delivered on-site or at our Academy.
- Delivery: Participants will engage in both theory and practical activities.
- Amenities: Tea and coffee are provided when the course is delivered at Thurgoona Training Academy (TTA).
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Pathways
RPL is not offered for General Occupancy (PUAFER001-004). Students who complete this unit of competency may be eligible for entry into further study such as: PAU20622 Certificate II Public Safety
