COURSE OVERVIEW  

Follow Safe Manual Handling Practices is a unit from the Health Training Package. This course will provide participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to minimize risk of injury, improve workplace organisation, identify hazards and practice safe manual handling techniques.

LEARNING OUTCOMES  
  • Develop an understanding of legislative requirements
  • Rights and obligations of employees and employers
  • Identify WHS hazards, associated with manual handling
  • Perform Risk Assessments.
  • Contribute to workplace design
  • Implement practices to prevent or minimise risk
  • Demonstrate correct manual handling practices
  • Identify correct PPE for manual handling tasks
  • Select and use appropriate mechanical aids
VOCATIONAL OUTCOMES  

Upon successful completion of this course, learners will be able to consider the following job roles:

  • First Aider
  • Office Administration
  • General Duties
  • Health Care and Aged Care Workers

This unit is appropriate for those working in:

  • All Organisations
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS  

Safety Boots or Enclosed footwear, suitable attire, hard hat, a pen/pencil.

DELIVERY AND DURATION  

Duration - One (1) Day

Time - 8.30am to 4.30pm

Conduct Manual Tasks Safely is open to the public and can be delivered on your site or at the Academy. Learners will receive training in both theory and practical activities. Morning/afternoon tea and lunch is provided when delivered at TTA. Please advise office of any dietary requirements

RPL/LEARNING PATHWAYS
