COURSE OVERVIEW  
This course provides the skills and knowledge to be able to handle asthma emergency situations in the workplace. It provides background knowledge of the causes, symptoms and effects of asthma as well as emergency treatment.
LEARNING OUTCOMES  
  • Develop a risk minimisation and emergency management plan for an asthma episode
  • Assess emergency asthma situations
  • Apply the appropriate first aid procedures for an asthma episode
  • Communicate details of emergency asthma incident
  • Evaluate responses to asthma emergencies
  • Incident documentation
VOCATIONAL OUTCOMES  

Upon successful completion of this course, learners will be able to consider the following job roles:

  • Positions requiring the risk management of anaphylaxis
  • First Aider

    This unit is appropriate for those working in:

  • Teaching

  • Sports
  • Youth
  • Designated first aiders
  • ENTRY REQUIREMENTS  

    Enclosed footwear, suitable attire, a pen/pencil.

    DELIVERY AND DURATION  

    Duration - Four (4) Hours

    Time - 8.30am to 12.30pm

    Asthma is open to the public and can be delivered on your site or ours. Learners will receive training in both theory and practical activities. Morning tea/coffee are provided when delivered at TTA. Please advise office of any dietary requirements
