Fire Safety Officer is a compilation of 6 units from the Public Safety Training Package to meet the requirements of NSW Health, for people to perform the role of Fire Safety Officer.


Upon successful completion of theis course participants will be awarded with the following: Fire Safety Officer Certificate which is the compilation of the following units of competency as aligned to the requirements of NSW Health.

  • PUAWER001B - Identify, prevent and report emergency workplace situations
  • PUAWER002B - Ensure workplace emergency prevention procedures, systems and processes are implemented
  • PUAWER004B - Respond to workplace emergencies
  • PUAWER005B - Operate as part of an emergency control organisation
  • PUAWER006B - Lead an emergency control organisation
  • PUAWER008B - Confine small workplace emergencies

These six units of competency are Nationally Recognised and have been taken from the Public Safety Training Package.


Upon successful completion of this course participants will be able to consider the following job roles:

  • Fire Safety Officer

This course is appropriate for those working in the Health Industry


Participants are required to wear suitable attire including enclosed footwear and bring with them a pen/pencil.


Duration - Three (3) Days

Time - 8.30am to 4.30pm

Fire Safety Officer is open to the public and can be delivered on your site or at the Academy. Learners will receive training in both theory and practical activities. Morning tea/coffee and lunch is provided when delivered at TTA. Please advise office of any dietary requirements


RPL and RCC is offered for this course. Participants that attain this Certificate may be interested in further training such as: Fire Safety Manager. Further information can be found in section 13 Appendix 2 of the Policy Directive of NSW Health.
