Frequently Asked Questions

Q. How often should I refresh my confined space ticket?

A. It is a recommendation that persons who hold a confined space entry ticket/competency refresh their knowledge and skills on a 2 yearly basis. This has over the years become industry best practice.

Q. What are the directions and how do I get there?

A. On our CONTACT US page you will find a map and directions. Pre-course information sheets have directions. Blue and white road signs have been placed at the intersections for your conviniece.

Q. Is food supplied?

A. Courses longer than four (4) hours will recieve lunch. Morning and afternoon tea is also provided as well as tea/coffee making facilities. All is included in the price of the course.

Q. Is there anywhere close by where we can buy food?

A. Five minutes from our location is Woolworths and other speciality shops, (Thurgoona Bakery, Aromas Coffee and sandwhich bar, Indian Tandori, Baan Sabai Jai Thai Restaurant).

Q. Do you have Eftpos and / or credit card facilities?

A. No.

Q. Can I book Online?

A. No. We are currently in the process of designing a new online booking tool. You can however download the booking form and email it to us.

Q. Is the White card course recognised Nationally?

A. Yes. Some organisations do not recognise the online version of this course. Our course is Nationally Accredited and is delivered face to face. It is also WorkCover Approved.

Q. How often do I need to refresh CPR?

A. CPR is required to be refreshed annually in accordance with the Australian Resuscitaion Council Guidelines

Q. What are the service requirements for Confined space and heights equipment?

A. This equipment is required to serviced by a competent person every six months. There are additional service requirements for specific equipment. Please contact your trainer or our office for further information

Q. Does Thurgoona Training Academy deliver Stop / Slow training?

A. We currently do not deliver Stop / Slow Traffic management training.

Q. Do you deliver forklift training?

A. No.

Q. What do I need to bring with me?

A. This will depend entirely on the course you are attending. Our pre-course information sheets, course information book and course web pages will have this information. If you are in any doubt please feel free to contact our office.

Q. What time does the course start?

A. Most courses at the Academy begin at 8.30am unless otherwise specified please check your pre-course information.

Q. Why do I need to be clean shaven?

A. When wearing respiratory protection the Australian Standard 1715 requires that persons be clean shaven in order to achieve a correct seal between the wearers face and the face piece.
